Thank you for taking a minute to read this. My name is Patrick Vaughn.

My family recently purchased a pool from Anthony Sylvan.

We live in Northern Virginia. The local office here is in Ashburn Va. I want to pass along some updates on how our experience has been up to this point.

My wife and I met with Mr. Mustacchio in the middle part of August of this year 2019.

Mr. Mustacchio is a consummate professional. He was very informative and clearly is a subject matter expert when it comes to the pool business. Mr.

Mustacchio was honest and direct with all of our questions and concerns. After some consideration we decided to enter into a contract and begin what has become a blind adventure with little to no coordination or communication.

After signing the contract we were introduced to Mr. Brian Nobling. Together Mr.

Mustacchio and Mr. Nobling agreed that the pool could be done in 6 weeks. However with the weather being an unknown they both agreed 8 weeks was more realistic. This was on August 16th.

During this meeting we learned about the construction scheduler Mr. Woody. It was my understanding that he would work with Mr. Nobling and schedule work and communicate that information back to us.

Unfortunately that is not how it works. After a week of hearing nothing I reached out to see where we were as far as excavation. Long story short the pool was not dug until September 5th. (3weeks later).

At the time we signed there were crews "Standing bye". Also we were in a drought so there was no rain to hold us up either . After hearing nothing further I again reached out for info. After no reply from anyone I went to M.

Mustacchio and he was able to somehow get the wire installed a week later. Things looked good as the plumber showed up out of the blue 2 days later. That's where it seemed to stop.

I waited a week after the 5th of September to reach out again after hearing nothing. I was able to complain enough to finally get the gunite shot the following week.

(2weeks later no rain). After another week of no communication I sent an admittedly snide e-mail wondering why no one would talk to me about status, schedule or things like that. Keep in mind I have to schedule my fence and work a landscaper in. unfortunately the landscaper is now put off until the spring.

On October 7th the Electrician came.

He did not finish. I am still concerned about getting that part complete. I looked them up on line and it appears they are closed? The PM has assured me that they will complete the work.

So now we are at October 30th and I am still waiting on concrete. I don't even try to talk to the PM anymore. I was told concrete would be either Monday, 28th; Tuesday, 29th; or today the 30th. I have now been told, because it rained last Sunday they can't come until Saturday 11/2.

I still have to put my fence up before plaster.

The first freeze is in this week's forecast. I have some concerns about a drain pipe that has been installed that seems to have created a sink hole. I know people spend large amounts of money on these things. My family has paid 60k so far and we just want the work done.

Heck we have even tried to add some things but can't seem to give money away. I am very concerned that this mess (my yard) will continue to be this way into the spring. I can't get a straight answer about that and I have certainly asked. I also have seen where the PM has completed other pools during what I believe is this same time for his own side business.

This is on Face Book so, honestly I have few details.

Either way it is not a good look.

Thank you for your time. I am sure the quality of the pool will be much better than the service.

Horrible company - Anthony Sylvan

We chose this company because they gave a warranty for as long as we own the pool... Problem is, they do not honor their warranty.

They argue, they talk over you, and they try to worm their way out of their warranty. I would not recommend this company because of their dishonesty.

No need to explain what happened. Your company has a lot to learn in the customer service part of your company.

**UPDATE** Although Anthony and Sylvan replied to my online reviews with "Thank you for making us aware of your concerns, we will be in contact with you soon". Of course the "Customer service Manager" from their corporate office contacted me but two months later, they still want me to pay for their design error OR take a $1,000 refund and be on my merry way. I refused to take the refund due to principal and I now am the proud owner of a pool that looks horrible at night due to improperly designed lighting placement.

I highly suggest not doing business with Anthony and Sylvan Pools. Don't let their sales pitches deceive you.

Still no resolution!!!!

(1) Let me start by saying I am still pissed after 10 years first of all when we did the pool layout with the Anthony and Sylvan contractor he took the plans to the town To get a permit to build the pool the town did not allow them to go so big so he took it upon himself to make other drawings of A smaller pool to get the permit for the construction of the pool that was a sneaky move because now I'm stuck with a smaller pool after measuring I was short changed so they gave me kisses if you get in the pool heater for there this honest mistake so call!

(2) after the pool was done they told me that I would enjoy my pool guess again now they built the pool lower then the property so now when it rained everything from the grass the dirt and everything went into the pool now a contractor came back out and saw that it was their fault and they gave me a check for $1500 so that I can install a drain system that would work around my pool I then added another 1500 out of my pocket to get a drain system that would work around my pool that's $3000 for a drain system!!!!

(3) now let me remind you of how they make their real money it's off of repairing and servicing your pool first your pool is made out of concrete then skim coated with plaster plaster after a couple of years start to deteriorate then the coping around the pool starts to crack then they send somebody for a free consultation from Anthony Sylvan's to price out a repair job just like they did to me let me remind you my pool was $35,000 how they sent an *** to my house who overcharged on square footage when I know my pool is only 300 squares he said I had 450 wasn't this the first problem we had of the pool not being The right square footage as they sent contractors to measure that's why they compensated me with a pool heater they are just a joke do me a favor people try other companies and get different quotes also let me tell you how much they wanted to charge me to replaster my pool 7700 is that a joke a bunch of crooks they'll guess how much a different company came and did it for $500 paort2@aol.com if you need to get InTouch you can email mem

Today I received a mailing from AnthonySylvan, which stated 'built for life'. Although my 10 year old gunite pool was demolished in 2005, I still have bad memories of my experience with the company.

Although the pool's warranty stated the pool was guaranteed to hold water, my pool leaked from day 1. It was eventually determined that there was a crack in the wall behind the tile line. After much back and forth with the company, I was informed a team would be at my home to repair the problem. The night before they were scheduled, I received a call from the office saying that it had been decided the repair would not be done because the crack was due to 'wear and tear'.

I was furious. I had a lawyer contact the company via mail, but received no response. At that point, I could not afford to pursue litigation, so I elected to demolish the pool, since I was told the repair would cost 20K or more, with no guarantee that it would not reoccur.

I have told everyone I know who is thinking of putting in a pool to look elsewhere for a pool company. Once of the reasons AnthonySylvan was chosen was because of their warranty, which apparently doesn't hold water.....and apparently still upsets me...

Thank you very much for bringing these concerns to our attention. I would really appreciate the opportunity to try to find a positive resolution to your concerns. Please send me an email, customercare@anthonysylvan.com, with the best phone # to reach you. I hope to...

I must say this is been the absolute worst experience I've ever had with a contractor and regret using this company. First of all they tell you that their employees are on staff and they are not ...they use mostly subcontractors..

Who don't show up on the right date and don't return phone calls . Their salesman will keep your great lipservice and tell you how wonderful they are but in reality he over cells and they wait on that delive their salesman will keep you great lipservice and tell you how wonderful they are but in reality they over sell and under delivery

Doing the presentation when they collect my check there were five people around the table from Anthony Sylvan which were the coordinator and project manager along with the sales reps an engineer . they told me how closely they would be working together and that the project manager will be accessible at all times but from start to finish I've only seen him on site at my job a total of three days ! They had the wrong drawings on several occasions and negated to fill out the proper paperwork for the town and when they did fill out the paperwork we wound up failing inspection because they cannot fill it out properly as to the amount of drains needed were 4 and the only for a permit for 2!

All of the affirmentioned are the good experiences with this company- they broke my sidewalk and retaining wall as well as crushed the plumbing with heavy equipment in my yard which they need to fixed and the response was that it is not their responsibility to fix it the sidewalk... The pool was supposed to be done by memorial day and it will not be finished and we are approaching Labor Day .... Whatever you do stay far away from Anthony Sylvan because they will sell you on a great job but that is not what you will be receiving. You should not expect any personal service from this company they are very large like a utility and you just don't matter to them ...

It is sad because I spent about $220,000 on my backyard and would have expected to write a glowing review shelling out that kind of money.. it is sad because I spent about $220,000 on my backyard and would have expected to write a glowing review shelling out that kind of money .

Anthony Sylvan Pool

Had a pool built 2 years ago by Anthony Sylvan pools in Charlotte, NC. After the pool decking cement was re-poured due to sinking,...we are still waiting to pass the final inspection(1 year later) which we failed due to step heights not being to code.

Company said in Jan 2014 it would be taken care of.....still waiting. Also code requires fencing around back wall, railings down steps. Still not done! Now light doesn't work.

Notified company, said they would take care of the problems...still waiting. Phone calls useless! Same story "we'll take care of it.

ok..WHEN??? Now dealing with the Better Business Bureau to help.
